Where we are

The "Eastern Comfort" hostel boat is located directly at the "Oberbaum" bridge, one of the most beautyful bridges on the river "Spree", and next to the so called "East Side Galery" the longest left over piece of the former wall seperating East- and West Berlin during the cold war. The wall is 20 meters away. 15 years ago, it would have cost your life, trying to step on this ground (e.g. minefields)!

Now, it is one of the most visited hotspots in Berlin. The areas left and right of the river are the upcoming district of "Friedrichshain" in the former East and "Kreuzberg" in the former West. Each of them packed with pubs, bars, clubs & original shops.

• Central Station "Ostbahnhof" 15 min walking distance (leaving the station, you will see the wall, now only follow it along leftwards and you will find our entrance almost at the end)
• Public Transport / subway "Warschauer Strasse" 10 min walking distance (at the entrance, down the hill towards the bridge (at the Spree), cross the big road, keep right 500m our entrance).
• To the city centre 10 min by public transport
• From / to the airport ("Schönefeld" by "S-Bahn" metro train to "Warschauer Strasse" and walk or take "Schönefeld Express Train" to "Ostbahnhof" and walk.)

• by bus
  ZOB (central bus station)
  (buy a single ticket 2,40 € at present) from here you take the "S-Bahn" (fast train) to station "Warschauer Strasse". Outside the station you find a road (on a bridge), turn left, downhill towards roadjunction (trafficlights). Cross diagonal, walk along the "wall" (former Berlin boundary wall), second opening / entrance you will see the boat.

  airport Tegel (buy a single ticket 3,10 € at present) TXL bus X9 to "Alexanderplatz", from there take the "S-Bahn" (fast train) to station "Warschauer Strasse". Outside the station you find a road (on a bridge), turn left, downhill towards roadjunction (trafficlights). Cross diagonal, walk along the "wall" (former Berlin boundary wall), second opening / entrance you will see the boat.
  
  airport Schönefeld SXF outside the airport take the shuttlebus or walk to station. (buy a single ticket 3,10 € at present). Expresstrain (RE) (every 30 min.) to "Ostbahnhof" or take the "S-Bahn" (fast train) to station "Warschauer Strasse". Outside the station you find a road (on a bridge), turn left, downhill towards roadjunction (trafficlights). Cross diagonal, walk along the "wall" (former Berlin boundary wall), second opening / entrance you will see the boat.
  
• by car
  All motorways to Berlin lead you onto the "Berliner Ring" (A10) (motorway ring around Berlin). Take any exit leading you to "Berlin Zentrum", look out for signs directing you towards "Mitte" / "Alexanderplatz". From here you drive towards "Treptow", Dresden, Airport Schönefeld, from "Holzmarktstrasse" you drive further into "Mühlenstrasse" (the former "wall" on your right). Almost at the end the last but not least opening, you will find "Eastern Comfort" hostelboat.
